PSA is the merger of Peugeot and Citroen. In 1896 Armand Peugeot founded La Societe des Automobiles Peugeot. Citroen started production in 1919.

In 1934 Citroen went bankrupt and was bought by Michelin. In 1974 Peugeot bought its first 30% share of Citroen and in 1976 completed the take over. Since then the new company was PSA
